Scheduling

• The MMoG Saints play in the Metuchen Diocese league.  The Diocese creates the schedule and we usually do not receive it until around Thanksgiving.
• Saints practice 1 day/week; practice schedules are created once the teams are formed.
• Games are played on Saturdays.  The first game is usually in the beginning of December and the season runs through March.
• Home games are played at MMoG and away games are within the Metuchen Diocese parish.

Teams

• Players are assigned to teams after registration closes.
• The kids play versus teams in their own grade.
• There are no tryouts.
• Uniforms are lent to players by the church.
• The program is facilitated by background checked coaches who have completed the VirTUS training.
• While we strive to place all registered players on teams, returning players are given priority for team placement.
• We do not make A and B teams,  we do our best to distribute talent and experience between all teams in the age group.  This distribution is done by the coaches and approved by the Board.
• Parents/guardians are welcome to stay for practices and encouraged to attend games, but parent/guardian attendance is not required.
• CYO is intended as fellowship for ALL kids who want to play basketball.  We do have some very talented players that sign up each year and we also have players that have never touched a basketball before.  The program’s intention is to welcome all.
• We do not require a physical, but part of the registration is certifying that you know your child to be healthy enough to participate and waiving MMoG and CYO of liability.
